Health & Water
Healthcare
and Medical Aid
Health & Water are issues that play a vital role in a sustainable future for the community. Very few clinics exist, forcing the Maasai to travel up to 60 miles for treatment where medical needs are met by paramedics. Lack of education about disease, treatment and prevention persists. In addition, competition for water between livestock and wildlife, as well as the demand for clean water for people, puts enormous pressure on both the ecosystem and the community.
PROJECT GOALS:
- Construct Medical Facilities
- Employ doctors and nurses
- Buy an ambulance to serve the entire community
- Distribute information about specific prevalent diseases: AIDS, malaria, cholera and tuberculosis
- Create new water sources for the community and develop a sustainable water management plan for livestock
